MOBI CHARGER EV

design

FreeWire (USA) and Eurotech, Italy, 2016

manufacturer / brand

FreeWire (USA)

Born from the collaboration between Eurotech and the American company FreeWire Technologies, the mobile stations for recharging electric cars Mobi Charger EV can be moved – servicing more cars - to allow charging at work, at the mall, or in public parks. Eurotech supplies essential technology components: Everyware CloudReliaGate and ReliaCell. Data will be collected from Mobi Charger unit using Everyware Cloud, an IoT (Internet of Things) integration platform that simplifies the management of data and devices, linking them to the cloud securely and reliably. FreeWire will use in real time the information received, to monitor and verify that the stations operate according to the required standards. In addition, it will manage the available power and the energy requirement for charging Mobi EV Charger. FreeWire also chose to install the gateway IoT Reliegate and the mobile network adapter Reliacell inside the Mobi Charger. Reliagate is a low consumption multiservice gateway, designed for bidirectional communication between the stations Mobi Charger and Everyware Cloud. Reliacell is a robust plug-and-play module which ensures a reliable connection to the cellular network.

Awards:

Eurotech: Postscapes Internet of Things Awards 2015/2016, IoT Evolution Smart Machine Innovation Award 2015, Total Telecom - IoT Award for the Most Innovative Platform Solution Product of the Year 2015 (ReliaCell), IoT Excellence Award 2014 (ReliaSENS), Battle of the Platforms Award 2014 (M2M Integration Platform Everyware Cloud), The Green 500 (1st and 2nd place among the energy-efficient supercomputer)

Although electric vehicles are gaining in popularity, drivers are hesitant to purchase electric vehicles due to a perceived scarcity of charging stations, and energy costs, while lower than gasoline, are still high. Mobi Charger EV addresses this problem.

"Improve everyday life, making it simpler, safer and more enjoyable through ubiquitous and pervasive use of technology." This is the mission of Eurotech, the small company born in a tiny municipality of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy, and now at the NASDAQ in New York. "A pocket multinational" says its founder, Roberto Siagri. He graduated in Physics at the University of Trieste in 1986 then, after having worked as a designer and then as technical director at HTE (a former ASEM company), founded Eurotech in 1992.
Eurotech is a listed company that designs and manufactures embedded platforms, subsystems, cloud-ready devices and high-performance computers. A leading provider of intelligent devices and technologies Machine-to-Machine (M2M) for applications ofthe Internet of Things (IoT), Eurotech now points strongly to the development of industry 4.0. Today, in fact, the data processing and their transit on the web is proliferating exponentially: it is estimated that 80% of the data processed in 2020, are starting to be picked up from this year. This phenomenon, which is the basis of Big-data, requires a better and easier access to data produced by machines and their transport to the cloud, in security mode. The system developed by Eurotech (software and hardware), meets these requirements and has become an integral part of the overall process of innovation and productivity growth in many sectors. The IoT applications that Eurotech is developing are countless. In the context of mobility, for example, in addition to Mobi Charge EV of FreeWire presented in this exhibition, Eurotech has recently presented Aurora Hive, a water cooled super-computer, now available in a new variant of the size of a shoe box. Its computing performance is excellent: it is able to make 'smart' mobile media, thus allowing cars to drive themselves.
