When you say transport design the mind immediately goes to certain presentations at trade fairs, where sophisticated 3D software do fluctuate sparkling proposals in an aseptic void, while the typical soundtrack of a science fiction movie caress the ear. In this section, there is nothing of this. Here we tackle the 'fair' mobility issue, more equitable than the existing one. One area in which much remains to be done, but many seeds have already been planted and involve a variety of alternatives. All the selected products - in their own way - use technology a bit as taking a taxi, getting up and down when it is needed. So if the hi-tech informs some aspects of the project, aesthetics often follows different paths.

Gordon Murray, a sector visionary designer, draws light trucks, suitable for the most rugged African terrain, they are economic and ... flat-pack! Revolutionary. Another English man, Janna Deeble is the SafariSeat dad, a wheelchair that is changing the lives of disabled people in East Africa. It can be self-built in local shops, it is ultra-durable, easy to repair, and economic. Ruthless competitors haunt the web. They reproach him not following (western) standards in the field of ergonomics. No more words.

The other selected projects look to the richest countries. Dignity, autonomy and freedom are key words for both Scooters for Life, tutor for the elderly, and for the innovative MarioWay which aims to improve the lives of people with paraplegia. The last two projects aim at promoting the deployment of electric vehicles: Mobi Charger EV is a device able to make easier the charging, while the Me - Electric Scooter wants all of us at zero-emissions. Our lungs say thank you.
