A premise which is also a wish, I would like soon to turn this section into self-exhibition: the material is really exciting and full of potential. In this brief introductory summary, I will just mention a few paths followed in the search for the selection of the eight products of this section.

Platforms & Apps: in the endless field of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) we chose to focus on some recent cases of web platforms and applications for mobile phones which were facing the so-called 'emergency migrants'.

Consumer electronics: here the selection criteria were those of environmental and social sustainability, innovation both in terms of the intrinsic characteristics of the product and for the ability to stimulate virtuous behaviour by the end-user, and finally - just in the case of radio - the product utility in emergency conditions.

ICT & risk prevention: two very different products, a drone for land environmental monitoring and software to be put on the car, able to detect the alcohol level of the driver and automatically lock the car power in case it is too high.
